Serving as the universal life-saving, personnel transfer, and utility workhorse of the United States Navy throughout World War II and the post-war era, the double-ended 26-foot motor whaleboat (MWB) was carried aboard virtually every surface combatant and auxiliary—from Fletcher, Gearing, and Sumner-class destroyers to cruisers, battleships, aircraft carriers, and attack transports. Engineered with a seaworthy double-ended hull form capable of negotiating heavy surf and following seas, these sturdy diesel-powered craft handled man-overboard recovery, harbor liberty runs, mail transfer, and boarding party operations. Scaled to the popular 1/350 builder scale, this dedicated 6-piece fleet suite faithfully captures the double-ended sheer line, open cockpit interior, engine housing doghouse, thwart seating, and transom rudder assembly of original Bureau of Ships (BuShips) builder blueprints with flawless micro-scale fidelity.

Engineering Precision and Fleet Small Craft Fidelity

At 1/350 scale, ship's boats stowed in midships gravity davits, deck chocks, or skids step immediately into view, where thick, solid-cast plastic hulls with flat, featureless canvas cover moldings or solid resin blocks severely degrade an otherwise ambitious naval build. This replica 6-piece motor whaleboat set captures the elegant, functional lines of wartime American small craft with surgical clarity, eliminating the thick, indistinct coamings, shallow cockpits, and flash distortion typical of mass-production injection-molded kits. Deployed in radial or gravity davits along the midships deckhouses or displayed afloat alongside your 1/350 scale hull, each hull features true-to-scale physical relief, creating realistic physical shadow lines and authentic open-air cockpit depth that standard kit placeholders cannot match.

Museum-Quality Small Craft Replication: Developed using original technical layouts, historical U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships standard boat plans, and archival shipyard outfitting records to accurately reproduce the exact physical dimensions, double-ended hull lines, sheer curve, and cockpit layout of the standardized 26-foot diesel motor whaleboat.

Prototypical 1/350 Fleet Scope: Specifically engineered for 1/350 scale U.S. Navy surface combatants and auxiliaries, including Fletcher, Gearing, Benson/Gleaves, and Sumner-class destroyers, Cleveland and Baltimore-class cruisers, Iowa and South Dakota-class battleships, Essex-class carriers, and amphibious attack transports (APA/AKA).

Comprehensive 6-Piece Fleet Suite: Packaged as a matched set of six (6) complete motor whaleboats, providing ample authentic craft to outfit an entire destroyer division, a multi-ship capital task force, or harbor water diorama scenes.

Exposed Cockpit &
