The kit deck gun resembles a fire hose nozzle rather than a 4”/50. This has the right scale and proportions and captures the detail well. Cleans up easily and directly replaces the kit. A must have for your Trumpeter Gato.
I ordered a set of searchlights for a WWII destroyer I am working on, and they are real jewels! I have ordered other parts and they are excellent also.

Great replacement for the kit fairwater from the Trumpeter kit. While I don’t have measurements of the real Gato, it just looks proportionally better being taller and shorter front to back. The only idiosyncrasy for me is the rail is a bit thick and out of scale. It also visually gets in the way if you pair it with DiStefano’s very nice Bofors mount. Very pleased with the purchase!
