Very well detailed as always with distefan products , very fragile peaces which is to be expected with such small items, very satisfied .
Yet another excellent rendering, in this case, a WWII duel purpose 3-inch gun. As all of the parts I have purchased from Destefan, this is beautifully done.
I needed a set of 1/192 Destroyer Prop Guards and you were able to make them immediately! They fit the ship plan exactly and will work fine!
Received the mast and I am very impressed with the 3D printing. Very strong material made removal of printing supports easy. Fits correctly on my boat and aligns perfecting with mounts.
My gun mount arrived in basically good condition. I had to reattach the shoulder braces and the front and rear sights. I am very pleased with the detail in this item.
Absolutely perfect and great detailing too. Well packed for shipping.
I have 2 - 1/24 PT boat hulls awaiting assembly for RC use. I had been looking for crew members for some time, and my wife found these for me! The figures are absolutely FANTASTIC! The prints are clean with a LOT of good detail, and scale and figure proportions are very accurate and lifelike. I know that having these on model boats will really bring them to life. Hope my painting is up to the standards of these figures. Thanks! Also please note that this company has a LOT of great accessories for models.
The detail is amazing. Adds a whole new realistic look of my ship
The printing was very nicely detailed. The gun barrels were perfect with the ends drilled out
Writing this review in reverse.
First the good news. This is a very detailed print. Adding a turret/conning tower, a deck gun (available as 1/72 prints from Destefan) , and a few figures (available at lots of places, it going to be a great base for a small scale u-boat diorama. The deck detail is sharp and seems to be pretty close to accurate. The print is thin, hollow, and the resin has some flex yet it is very sturdy. Open drain/flood holes are all part of the print saving hours/days of work to open them. Some basic interior "plumbing" detail would be necessary but even just a small amount would look amazing. For a really odd reason I have the turret, deck guns and some detail from the 1/72 revell kit and I think they could work here with some adjustments. Thinking about adding the 1/72 CMK torpedo and winch if I can get the courage to do some careful cutting of the print.
The bad news is that as with another Destefan 1/72 print I've ordered, the print does not match the website pictures. In this case it's minor in that the pictures show the deck hatches as being open and for the 1/72 print I received these are printed (quite firmly) closed. There is no way to open these hatches without some really careful cutting or drilling. CMK does make a 1/72 VII hatch upgrade (I don't have it). If the print's hatch was damaged or had to be drilled out to be opened the CMK resin hatch could be used. The point is why does the actual 1/72 print not match the photo that shows the hatches open? I would have ordered it with hatches closed but this seems to be misleading. This undercuts what is actually a really good quality print. These prints are expensive but, in my opinion, worth it. It is just is wrong that someone has to actually order an expensive print to find out what it looks like. I don't want my money back, I want a really good print. Why not just show the 1/72 print I
will get so I can decide if the print is what I want?
Having an old Revell kit and PE set, the PE set helps a bit to improve the
old plastic molding efforts, but the 4 inch guns are really pathetic. The
Destifan gun set greatly improves the model.
Nicely detailed. These will make my USS Ward look great.
Great stuff. Very hard (if at all) to find this somewhere else out there, and especially in 1/600. A chest of gold for Airfix-RN and other 1/600 modelers. I can currently speak only speak about modern ship models - if you upgrade KITech New Jerseys or Ticonderogas, or Revell Forrestals, or Trumpeter Enterprises, this is surely the place to visit.
Yet another excellent representation of a standard WWII antiaircraft gun from DSTEFAN. Everything I have purchased from this company has been excellent.
Great detail and quality packaging to assure safe delivery.
The pictures that accompany this 1/72 print show more detail than is actually on the print. There is a "three bar deck rail" that appears around the second deck in the photos what is missing entirely from my print. There is "bulkhead rail" around the the first level in the photos that is not on the print either. There are other smaller minor details that appear in the photos that are missing as well. It's small but I think the last photo on this page is missing these details as well? Why show examples of print detail when the actual 1/72 print is not what is pictured? Some people will complain but my experience from this hobby is that they will more likely never place another order because there is a lack of "trust" for a vendor. Why undercut the great quality of your own products that you deliver by showing something you don't?
The good news? This is a great print! The clarity and sharp detail are excellent. Great bulkhead doors detailing, even the door tucked under the top 40mm gun platform. Beautifully printed fire hose. There is some external wiring printed on the bulkheads that is great. Details like these are what make a model stand out, especially in this scale. The overall print is "robust" in that it is a stiff and solid hollow resin print. Even with the fine detail, if this would be used on a 1/72 RC ship model, it would more than hold its own. Using a print like this could save days (?) of scratch building.
Another excellent model of this standard U.S. Navy submarine deck gun.
